Journée des doctorants IP Paris (Département Informatique, Données et Intelligence Artificielle)
The department of Computer Science, Data and Artificial Intelligence proposed an event dedicated to PhD students on Thursday June 10th.
The event was organiszed by:
- Ana Cavali (Télécom SudParis)
- Bruno Defude (Télécom SudParis)
- Éric Goubault (Polytechnique)
- Olivier Levillain (Télécom SudParis)
- Nan Li (PhD student at Institut Polytechnique de Paris)
Thursday June 10th
Keynote (Session chair: Éric Goubault)
- 13:00-13:50 : On Convolution - Georg Struth, University of Sheffield, UK (slides)
Convolution is an ubiquitous operation in mathematics. I will argue that it deserves some attention in computing as well. I will discuss a series of examples, from weighted languages and path algebras to interval temporal logic, separation logic and linear logic. I will relate convolution with Stone-type duality and show some constructions of convolution algebras relevant to concurrency theory and dynamics logics.
